''This current administration is highly committed to the welfare of our pupils because education is our major priority and we must give adequate support and equipment to facilitate and encourage the sector. We wont let education to collapse because that is the future of our coming generations and that is the more reason why we are here''.  These  are the inspirational words of the Executive secretary of Lagos Island East LCDA, Mr. Lukmon Omotosho during the distribution of writing materials to twenty one public primary schools pupils in the local government.

Our reporter gathered that the laudable event which had in attendance cream de la cream in lagos Island polity,government officials, traditional white cap chiefs, parents, teachers, religion and community leaders and pupils of the twenty one public primary schools took place last Wednesday at the prestigious cathedral primary school, broad street Lagos Island Lagos southwest Nigeria.

Items distributed to the pupils were school bags, twelve copies of Fourth leaves exercise books, Mathematical set, and two pairs of sandals and uniforms to each pupils. 

Speaking to news men after the presentation, the council boss Mr Lukmon Omotosho stated that his administration has performed marvellously well in the areas of security,drainage clearing, payment of local government pensioners among others enviable feats.

Expressing her joy over the kind gesture, a widower who spoke with enthusiasm and tears of joy relayed to august24online.com; ''I thought it was a mere deceit when the news got to me that my child will receive writing materials from the council boss, because it has not been easy since I lost her father in a ghastly motor accident but now I am a living witness to this epoch making presentation. I  am now fully relief'' ___ parent stated
