Thursday 12, November, this year will remain memorable for the grandaunts of the Lagos Island Vocational Education institute, as over one hundred and seventy one students from different choice of course such as carpentering, bakery, fashion design, make up, bead making and photography were graduated.
The graduation ceremony which was held last Thursday at the institution’s centre situated at Ojogiwa street Lagos Island, Lagos state was graced with notable dignitaries such as Senator Oluremi Tinubu, RT Hon Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, Executive Secretary of Lagos Island local Government Hon. Toye Olusi amongst others.
Speaking at the ceremony, Distinguished Senator Oluremi Tinubu congratulates the graduates, as she wishes them the best while displaying their talent, she also urged them to become good ambassador of the institution and to be passionate about their skills.
august24online.com gathered that the institution which was formerly known as a centre was upgraded by the Lagos state vocational and technical education board, founded on the principle to inculcate additional knowledge and create employment for the teeming youths and jobless islanders in the community through its entrepreneur initiative during the tenure of the former emeritus council boss of Lagos Island now the deputy speaker of the state house of Assembly RT Hon Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun.
Highlight of the event was the decoration and presentation of “award of recognition of service” to some selected dignitaries, the awardees were the distinguished senator of the federal republic of Nigerian senator Oluremi Tinubu (OON), Deputy Speaker of the Lagos state house of Assembly, RT Hon Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun and the workaholic Executive Secretary of Lagos Island local Government,Hon Toye Olusi respectively.
