Following the campaign promises of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state to construct two major roads in each of the twenty local government and thirty seven LCDA making One hundred and fourteen roads through out the state in his first six months in office, the Governor has mandated the executive secretary of the councils to conduct an opening bid ground for construction companies to bid for the contract and award the contract to the highest bidder as part of its continual efforts in bringing dividends of democracy to the grass root.
For Iru Victoria Island LCDA under the leadership of the Most articulated and experienced executive secretary in the state, Hon Abayomi Daramola.The biding exercise took place last week Friday at the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Hall, inside Iru Victoria Island LCDA.Four different bidders showed interest to bid for their interested roads as they all submitted their documents to show their curiosity.
Our correspondent who witnessed the free and smooth bidding exercise gathered that the major two roads to be constructed in Iru Victoria Island LCDA were Abayomi Daramola Street and Idowu Martins Street.
Presiding over the biding exercise, the executive secretary of Iru Victorial Island, Hon Abayomi Daramola told the gathering that the basic concept of the exercise was to bring the dividend of democracy down to the door steps or every Lagocians and to provide good roads for Lagocians to ply as part of its party's Manifesto, Daramola assured the gathering that more roads will be constructed as soon as this first quarter is completely commissioned.

Report gathered that Encho Construction Company bided Abayomi Daramola street for eighty eight million,eight hundred and twenty four thousand nine hundred, twenty eight Naira and thirteen kobo, ( 88,824,928,13) Fakey International Service Limited bided for Ninety one million Four hundred thirty nine thousand and three hundred and twenty three naira (91,439, 323) while Wins Worth Integrated Services bided for seven eight million,five hundred and thirty two thousand, seven hundred and twenty three naira and fifty kobo (78,532,723,50).
Also First Ark integrated service Limited bided Idowu Martins road for Two hundred and fifty eight million, nine hundred and twenty seven thousand,one hundred and four seven naira and fifteen kobo (258,927,147,15 ) while Encho construction company bided at the rate of Two hindered and fifty eight million six hundred and ninety three thousand, six hundred and thirty one naira and eight eight kobo (258, 693, 631 88).
During the biding process the council boss, Hon Daramola ask the bidders in polite and well constructive manner to kindly give little discount to the government as Fakey International Services gave five percent, First Ark Integrated Services gave five percent, Encho construction company also gave five percent, but no discount was given by Wins Worth Limited.
At the last hour of the exercise, the council boss immediately constitute a ten man committee to look into the required documents of the bidders and promised to announce the highest bidder in the next two weeks. The committee was headed by the representative of the Governor from Alausa while members of the the committee includes the council supervisor for works, legal officer, the physical quantity planner, council auditor an independent engineer and respectively.
