Among the dozen candidates jostling for the council chairmanship ticket in Lagos Island East LCDA, under the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon Monsuru Oteshade, son of a former councillor from WARD E3 during the era of Chief Obafemi Awolowo has joined the train, has he kicked off an empowerment program for youth in the community tagged 'OTESHADE CARES'' as part of his manifesto if elected into office in the fourth coming local government election.

august24online.com gathered that the empowerment program took place yesterday at the prestigious Lafiaji Community Centre Obalende, Lagos Island, Lagos with the population of five beneficiaries from each of the ten wards that constitute Lagos Island East LCDA.

Items distributed to empower the youth were two packet of Indomie Noddles, Vegetable Oil, Cooking Stove and some Create of eggs. The second category were given two Create of minerals, Coolers and two bags of Pure Water each.

In an interview with one of the beneficiaries of Oteshade good gesture, master Ganiu Olushikun from ward F2, who is also a 300 level Sociology student from the University of Ghana, thank the aspirant for empowering him with the little resources available to him. He promised to utilize the opportunity in order to appreciate the kind gesture.
